How to Make a Rectangle Image into a Square in Photoshop

This tutorial shows you how to transform a rectangle image into a square, then save it as a Web-ready image file.

We’re assuming a 600 x 600 pixel (px) image is required. You can change the dimensions of the saving step to whatever you’d like.

  1. Thanks for that! Much appreciated! This was a nice, concise explanation of something I’ve been wanting to do. It seems so damn simple now that you’ve explained it.

  2. Thank you for this quick and easy time-saving step! I was doing it the long way of checking the dimensions of the selected area in the info panel. This is so much faster 🙂
